Cancer blog 2

A short update on my visit to University Medical Center in Omaha yesterday.

First I met with Doctor Enke. I must tell you that I really like this man!! He was friendly, playful at the right time and extremely thorough in going over every aspect of my condition.

We went over my complete medical history first, and that of my family. We went over my CT scan, and he informed me of a possible problem shown in it. It wasn’t truly clear, but its possible that the cancer may have spread outside of the prostate capsule. To be sure, he ordered me to go and have an MRI in 2 weeks at Bryan East.

He then proceeded to do that digital exam that most men detest, but he couldn’t confirm anything unfortunately. He assured me that I would not have to go through that again as Doctor LeGrange trusted his findings.

Next an intern came in and went over pretty much the same things.

Then Doctor LeGrange came in. He announced that although Doctor Enke had done the digital exam that both he and another person (I assume another intern as we were never introduced) would both have to do it also. He quickly laughed and said he was joking; I assume because of the death stare I gave him. I told him I wasn’t worried, because he would have had to fight me to do that anyway.

He didn’t stay long, as Doctor Enke had pretty much gone over everything.

So, now I’m just sitting here and waiting to hear from Bryan East as to when I go for the MRI. Then I will have to call and set up a follow-up consultation with the 2 doctors at UNMC.

Basically, I don’t really know much more than when I went in other than the fact that it might possibly worse than we originally thought. But, I’m not too worried about it. As I always say “Worrying about what might happen doesn’t do any good and just drags you down”.

So, that’s it for this blog. I will keep you all informed as soon as I find out some more.
